FIRST EVER PROTEST!

TAX DAY TEA PARTY! YEE HAA!
We went to a tea party last Wednesday, and it was fun! Democrats, Republicans, Independents, young and old, you name it we were all there. Protesting (my husband and I, for the very first time!) our present administrations spending our futures into oblivian! With the way things are going, we will never get out from under this mess! We all know that we cannot spend money to get out of debt, and this is what the tea parties were all about. Our town had about 200-300 people joining and more honking their horns as we marched through the downtown part of Bend, Oregon saying "Silent Majority No More!" I know not everyone agrees with me on this, but I have an opinion too, just like you. AND it's still our constitutional right to voice our opinions. At least as of now - but who knows what will happen in our future - it doesn't look very promising. Now all of us grassroots people need to keep going and making sure we have a voice that will be heard and considered by this administration. Enough said!
I am working on a project and almost done; its one of the cutest lamps I have done so far. A very nice customer sent a sweet little baby head vase to me and asked that I make a lamp out of it. She just had her first grandchild (a girl) and wanted a lamp for her bedroom. Just wait till you see it! Next week.
Well, you all have a great week and please write to your state representatives if you want to voice your opinion too!

Good for you for getting out and making your feelings known. It's one of the things that makes this country what it is -- free speech!

Have a lovely weekend ... Cass

I wish I could have gone to one of the rallies! I feel the same way! This change is not good! I don't think this is the change that people wanted, and I feel they got taken. Our poor children & grandchildren will be just that! I can't wait to see the baby head lamp...I'll be waiting with baited breath!

Good for you Marilyn! I was surprised that the tea parties got almost no coverage from the media. If they had been protesting Bush they would still be making a big deal out of it!

Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for stopping by my blog! You do such fun things with the lamp shades and finials etc. I am impressed! I am loving that patriotic lamp shade alot!!
Where will you be going on Whidbey Island for your trip? Alot of fun things to do there, small towns with good antique malls on the south end, like Langley etc.
Hope you have safe travels and a good time, we will try!! to have good weather for you while there.

Hi Marilyn - I wish I could have taken part in one of the rallies but I wasn't able to. We do need to speak up and let our thoughts and wishes be known. Enough is enough! Some of us have worked WAY too hard to many years to have our dollars given away and spent on things that aren't helping any of us. ~Adrienne~

Hi Marilyn,

I love your blog!!!

And i do agree with you! I am in Australia and our government is giving out handouts to everyone like there is no tomorrow!!Well, rather everyone that cant be bothered getting out and doing a hard days work!!! Those of us that do work and earn a hard days living get nothing for our troubles, and those that choose not to work keep getting special packages to go and spend?Go figure? And who pays it back? Us hard workers in our taxes, whilst those that spend and dont pay tax keep getting free handouts! Its all going to end badly!
Anyway, love your blog,i also make lamps too!!

Have a great day!!

Lesley from Australia!
