This is one of my favorite holidays, after Christmas and Easter!! So much is going on right now that is disintegrating our freedoms as we have known them. We are all very busy people with our own problems and so involved in our daily lives that we sometimes do not want to get involved in what is going on around us. (Let's not keep our heads in the sand to avoid seeing it.) Below is a prayer by Billy Graham and a comment from President John F. Kennedy. They say it all, and in a much better way than I could. And I love the marching music at a July Fourth Parade, so here it is for you all to enjoy too!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!' by Rev. Billy Graham

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of LIBERTY" by John F. Kennedy

This weekend as we go to barbeques and see the fireworks, please take a moment to honor those who have died for our freedom and also say a little prayor for our president, and politicians to guide them in keeping our country the free nation that it has always been!

Have a happy and safe Independance Day!

Your prayer is very timely. It would be wonderful if everyone would feel the same way and remember the principals and ethics that our nation was founded on. I hope you and your family have a fun, safe and blessed 4th. God Bless. Hugs, Marty

I agree with your posting of Billy Graham's prayer. It is so true, and I will remember it especially on this holiday of freedom.
Hope you have a day of health and happiness.

Wonderful post!!
God bless America. And just today I witnessed a spontaneous standing ovation in the airport terminal for a group of our military coming home. Amazing and very moving.
