PICTURES, LOTS OF PICTURES!

I took over a week off, actually I think it was closer to three! My daughter Christy, and her family came for a quick visit during Memorial Day...and what fun we had! We started off by meeting them in Chico, Calif at the Sierra Nevada Brewery and had a nice lunch. After that Roger and Scott (my son-in-law) took the brewery tour and us gals and the kids did a little antique shopping while on our way heading home. We had a great time catching up with each other on the way. The next day we baked a cake with Ashley helping grandma! Ashley, my 7 year old grandaughter, took some pictures with my camera and I'll post some of them - she is a pretty good photographer too! Our grandson Luke, is now a little over two years old and a bundle of energy - and cute as a button! He followed Ashley all around...we built a swing for them and they had a great time with that!
Here is a picture of Ashley and I while baking a Rainbow Cake - and a picture of the results!

A cute pic of the kids on their swing!

And finally some of the pictures that our new little photographer took!

We sure had a nice visit, I only wish they lived closer to us! We are about 900 miles apart, so our visits are very special!
After they left, I have been working on some lamps and lampshades and also I am repairing some shades for two customers....just waiting for the materials that I need to arrive before I can finish them.
So now that I have some time, I am trying to keep up with all of you wonderful friends in the blogging world! Don't be surprised if you hear from me soon!
Y'all have a great weekend,
xxxooo

Hi, Marilyn -
What fun to have time with your grandkids. They are cuties! Love the cake - bet it was good, too. I love your banner - that lampshade is gorgeous. I've been so busy lately that I've not had much time to blog but hope to correct that soon. Maybe today! It's good to hear from you again.

Hi Marilyn, Your grandchildren are so cute! The cake was beautiful and so colorful, I need to try that. I'm making a cake for this weekend and I think I'll surprise him, my grandson's 7th birthday. I hope you see them again soon.

Hi Marilyn, thanks for stopping by and becoming a follower. And the technique for making the colored cake. I love it and I need to make one for my little grandson who's turning 7 on the 14th. I am going to surprise him with the colors. I will add some flavoring to the mix as you suggested. I can't wait to make this, thanks again.

Hi Marilyn,
Great pictures of the kids. Looks like everyone had a wonderful time. Being gone on vacation for two weeks really put me behind on my visits..
I enjoyed catching up with your posts.
Take care and enjoy our day,

Hi Marilyn,
I have a question for you, how do you make a rainbow cake? I think I have an idea of how. I would like to make one with my granddaughter.
Have a wonderful day,
