CARROTS, ANYONE?

Thought you all might enjoy this picture of the carrots that were left over in our greenhouse all winter - pretty small huh? But they taste great and I think the next time we have guests for dinner, I will add some of these little cuties to the salad! I have been checking out many of your blogs this week and seeing a LOT of beautiful flowers! Well, it snowed again yesterday, so that tells you my flowers are just now coming out of the ground! I think we are going to miss spring this year and go directly into summer!

Here are three pictures I took while visiting - found them in and on antique stores. I thought they were funny!

One more thing, I guess you all would like to see some of the "stuff" I got! The birdhouse has a story; the first day of my visit we all went to a plant sale. At this plant sale they had a raffle where you write your name on the back of the ticket and put it in the bag in front of the prize you would like to win...well, the next day Fran got a message on her phone stating that you won the birdhouse...and guess what! To our surprise, all three of us jumped up saying "I won"! The lady didn't say the name of the winner! Fran called and of course, you guessed, I was the lucky winner! Yee Haa!

While I was gone a very nice lady who I "met" not long ago, Mona from "Whisper Sweetly of Cottages" left me a Bella award! I am so excited that she did this and "Thank you, Mona for such a sweet surprise!" I will pass it along too!

So this is the scoop: To the recipients of this award, here is what you do: Please pass this Bella Award on to 15 people who have blogs that are new to you and you think are lovely (15 seems like a lot to me, but yep, that's the rules!). If you don't know 15 new blogs, it's O.K. to choose a blog that you really love! Also, this award is yours to take and post on your blog side bar if you would like, just put the name of the person giving it to you beneath. Enjoy and congratulations!

So here are 15 new blogs that I've seen and loved! Some very creative people, and all cottage-y a look that I love too! I am sorry about not being able to add their http onto this, but for some reason, this new Windows Vista will not let me! By the way, if anyone out there knows how to do it, please let me know!!!

Have a great week,

Were the carrots growing all winter in the greenhouse? It looks like you got lots of pretty things, I made the picture bigger and I love the embroidered bits and the little blue bird salt & pepper shakers. The birdhouse you won is beautiful!

Cute carrot story and love the fairy godmother sign.
Congrats on the winning the birdhouse.
I found you little lamp for looking for some vintage pink stuff to post. Didn't see it in your Etsy shop so thought it had sold. I love looking at your creations...wonderful job.

Hi Marilyn, I'm slow accepting your award, gosh, thanks so much!!! Your carrots also are so cute! You said you didn't know how to create a link for the blogs? If you still need to know email me and I'll send you the instructions, I'm still trying to figure out a few things too on my blog, like how to create a box with HTML that people can copy to have a button from your blog on their site? I still don't know how to do that! Suzie Thanks again!

Hi Marilyn, I just checked in to see how you are doing and found you have given me an award! yay! thank you!!!

Those carrots are so darling; I am not sure I'd have had the heart to eat the little sweeties. :-)

Love the signs ... when we moved to That Old House, a friend gave us a sign that looks like one of those historical markers: "Here, in 1850, absolutely nothing happened."
Hahaha... we haven't put it up yet, but it cracks me up.

Thanks again .. great post! Glad I wandered by!
