A NEW COMPUTER AND WE'RE UP AND RUNNING, WELL SORT OF!

Sooo, we broke down and bought a new computer! Now I have to get used to the way this one works! New stuff to learn! yuk!

I just don't understand; You see GREEN everywhere! We are encouraged to be GREEN! Why don't these people concentrate on the real problems? Like manufacturers who make stuff (like computers, refrigerators, TV's, appliances, radios, etc) to break down after a short period, so that you have to throw them away and BUY A NEW ONE????
And what about ALL THAT JUNK MAIL WE GET? How many trees does it take to get out a message to EVERYONE? Junk mail that WE THROW AWAY!

Environmentalists complain that we are a throw away society. Well, why don't they go after all the companies that make the throw away stuff? I for one, would like a refrigerator that will last at least 20 years, or a computer that will last at least 10 years - or even one that could be FIXED instead of tossing it! Last year we had to buy a new printer - there's another thing - what about the print cartridges? Talk about a waste! I know with all the new way of making stuff, they could come up with ink cartridges that last longer! But then THEY WOULDN'T MAKE AS MUCH MONEY! That is where the whole problem is, I'm sure!

So, I am ranting! Done! I will shut up now - you probably all feel the same! So I'm back on line now and ready to blog again! Thank you all for your support and also for listening to my rant today!!!!
Have a great week,
xxxooo

I'm glad you're back! I know how it is to be without a computer for a while~ we had a virus and had to put it in the shop, get a new hard drive. We lost so much data~~~if there's stuff that's important better put it on a disk or you could loose it.All this stuff can get alittle nerveracking~~~but what I want to know is ~ what did we do befor computers ? Anyway~~~GLAD YOU'RE BACK!!!Blessings, Deborah

I'm right there with you girl! I want everything to last forever, I don't care if it's the "latest" thing or not! I had a refrigerator that lasted 22 yrs, bought in 1968, and I have a washer that has worked perfectly since 1981, (I probably just jinxed myself), they don't make things like they used to. P.S. Ranting is allowed sometimes.

Marilyn, I have to add my amen! Things used to last, things used to be made in America by Americans. Now we're stuck with China junk. So sad. Almost seems like the plan is to take down our wonderful country.

Just saw your quote from the dear pastor Adrian Rogers, such a wise and inspriring man, we miss him so. He had it exactly right and said it better than anyone else. Haven't seen that quote before, will have to print it out to show hubby and kids.

Glad you are back online, although learning a new computer is always a pain.

Hello Marilyn!

I found your blog through Michelle Palmer's, and have to say I completely agreed with the first post I read! I don't believe in being wasteful, but we've been forced to be "throw-away." I'd be the first in line to bring back glass milk bottles and to outlaw junk mail! And just the packaging alone on ink cartridges can make me crazy. (Mostly because I can't open them without male assistance!)

Okay, back to peace and calmness... but it's good to know there are other gals out there with some common sense!

Hi there...just popped over to your blog from The Crowned Casa and am SO excited. In one of your previous blogs you wrote about the novels, Blue Christmas; etc. I LOVE those books and there was one I had not read. I'm heading to the library to see if they have it. If not...I'm gonna buy it. Those were some of my favorite books ever...I just wanted to jump in the pages and BE those two ladies. THANKS!
