How yukky is that!! I have a lot to say and pictures to show, so come back maybe tomorrow and check me out again...that is, if I get home at a reasonable time today! Sorry, I didn't! But I'm adding to this post:

AND THE WINNER IS......

I woke up early today (5 a.m!) and decided to get on the old computer...I had fourteen names to draw from so I wrote each one on a little sheet of paper, put them all into a bowl and had my husband draw a name. But before I announce it, I want to thank all of the women who responded and said such nice things about this little lamp and my lamp blog site. You are all so kind and it sure helps to know that you are out there, somewhere in the world, and you are looking at the lamps that I create. Thank you soooo much! Don't you just LOVE this blogging-thing! I'll do another give-away later in the year so please watch for it! Also, with your approval, I would like to add each one of you to my "favorite blogs list", if you are not already there.

Well, now the final moment; And the winner is:
Adrienne! at http://withagratefulheart.blogspot.com/ Congratulations Adrienne, and I will be in contact with you to find out where to mail the lamp.
So now, I've got to get ready to go out and do some yard-saleing today! You all have a great weekend, and again, thanks for all your support!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

There probably aren't many guys out there looking at our blogs, but I wish them and all us gals married to them a "Happy Fathers Day" ! We all wouldn't be here except for our Dad's! I would have put a picture up of my father, and my husband , but I can't get my scanner to work properly! I'll have to sit down and just figure it out! My Dad; he is a wonderful man, he raised us up well and made sure we always did the right thing...he loves fishing and always took us camping every year. He played with us and helped with our homework too (I mostly remember the spelling tests! Yuk!) He has always been there for us and still is - I love him so much! And even more since our Mom is gone, you just don't always know how much you will miss someone until they are not there to talk with anymore...Okay, okay, I'm getting teary-eyed, so let's talk about the "Give-Away"!
AS FOR THE "GIVE-AWAY": I am going to put all your names in a hat and draw one on Friday (6/13) and I'll post it that night! So keep leaving messages and we'll see who wins the little lamp!

IT'S TIME FOR A GIVEAWAY!

So many people are doing give-aways, that I thought it was high time I did one! So here's a cute little lamp (on the left) perfect for your entryway or guestroom or tucked in a spot that needs some light. It is all shades of off-white with a little antique lamp base of a man playing the violin and a woman holding flowers. (12 inches tall and 8 inches wide.) I made the shade from an old lace blouse and it has covered buttons. A very romantic little thing! I hope you like it!

Another thing that got me interested in give-aways is that I won one myself! In a little gift shop that I love, called "TWIGS" (in La Pine, Oregon) I won the monthly drawing! The owner, Suzie called to give me the news and I stopped buy to pick it up today. Was I surprised when I saw the beautiful yellow shelf - It has four picture frames within it....take a look! Twigs has lots of really cute stuff, and it is always a pleasure to go in and see what's new. Suzie says she sells lots of items that are one of a kind - I may even put a couple of my lamps in her shop! Unfortunately they are not on the internet yet.

So, please leave me a message and I will put your name in a hat for the cute little lamp and draw a winner next week! Good Luck, lol

By the way, have you all gone to Rhondi's Rose Colored Glasses and visited her "Very First Summer Porch Party" this week? What a treat it is! Lots of people are adding pictures of their front porches and they are so beautiful! Check it out if you have time, it's well worth the visit! And maybe my front porch will be completely decorated by next year's party, projects, projects, projects, whew!!

I know that I've been lax lately in blogging, but I've been working sooo much and it seems that everytime I get some time off, we either have company or there is lots to do outside in the garden. Like pulling weeds! Not that I'm complaining - I LOVE having friends and family visit (but couldn't we have pretty flowers without weeds?)

So now I can finally get back to writing to you all here in blogland! This week, here in Central Oregon we have had lots of rain and gray skys, so I haven't been able to get back to finishing my kitchen table and chairs...but soon, I promise, and also I am going to finish the denim lampshade that is still waiting for me in my shop! I'll post a picture when it's all finished...

It looks like there are lots of people having givaways and it has me thinking that maybe I will make a little lamp for a giveaway too! So keep watching, and I will announce it soon!

Have a great weekend, go out there and check out all the yard sales, I know that's what I will be doing too!

Here is a picture of me and my sweet friends (names not given to "protect the innocent!") That's me in the middle though! While our husbands were off fishing, we got together and did a little antiquing...yard saleing, and junk store shopping! We found lots of goodies, things for yard art, bird stuff, this and that! I had to work through their visit though, and it was NOT fun! For about three weeks now I have been working more days per week and overtime...exhausting! But my sweet friends always had dinner ready when I got home, let me put my feet up and snore, yes snore! And on my two days off, we went shopping! Next year we will go to one of their houses and do a lot more together, because I won't be at work, I'll be on vacation!!!
The sun is out now and it's getting up into the 80's already...the snow is GONE! The garden is coming up and that includes my peonies! All the birds are settling in making their nests and the swallows arrived last weekend. I painted a little birdhouse red and a family of swallows have nested there for two years now...so hopefully they will come back again this year. I bought some tomatoes and am supposed to be outside planting them instead of blogging! So needless to say, This post won't be long. I have a few things I am working on, including the kitchen table and chairs - which is almost complete, only one more chair and the table to sand and paint - probably get it done tomorrow? I think tonight I will get back on the computer and visit all your blogs and see what all of you have been up to while I was "out".
Have a great day,

I'm taking a few days off!

I am having some friends come here for about ten days, while our husbands go to their annual fishing trip. So I will not be blogging for a short time. But I couldn't just let you hang, no I haven't finished the table and chairs yet: the weather has been too cold to continue stripping and painting...However that did not stop me from yard-saleing! Oh no! My sister and I went over to the coast (with our husbands) to the annual 100 Mile yard sale from Lincoln City to Newport, Oregon. Check out the picture I took of the goodies I got! Two needlepoint canvases, for a chair or foot stool; three teacups and saucers from Italy; some free magazines; vintage embroidery; a floral scarf; two vintage lamps; an old ice cream maker (to make into a birdhouse); and a new hand made whirly-gig to be a gift for my daughter and her family for their new house. It's quite a bit of stuff, and I didn't spend over $30.00, (not including the gasoline, of course!) Well, I gotta go and clean the house and get ready for my guests! You all have a great weekend, and I'll see you in a bit!

I think it's here, I think it's here, FINALLY SPRING !!

Even though today we had all three: sunshine, rain and snow, right now it is sunny again...some of the plants are popping up outside and we have started watering them. There was a chipmonk on our front porch today and the birds are gathering stuff for their nests. I think SPING is finally here!

My project is almost completed. I have painted three chairs, and the table top. One chair is in the process of being stripped, three times! Then the table legs are going to be stripped too. I wanted to leave the table legs "chippy", but Roger felt it looked too primative...a look I love! However, the paint keeps falling off on the area rug! So, I am going to strip them too and paint them. I have to get this done soon, as we are expecting company in about a week and a half.

I am also trying to work on a new lampshade made from denim (old jeans) and old lace too. I'll show a picture when it is completed.

Well, you all have a great week. I am changing jobs soon, and will be very busy...but will try to write while all this is going on!

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

I don't think spring is EVER going to get here! My garden does have a little green popping up here and there, but not soon enough! Today would be a good day to plant some seeds (indoors) and maybe by the time they are plants, I can take them outside! Summer, here we come!

I was holding off with this post because I wanted to put all of my March posts into an archieve; and I would like to add some floral to the sidebar, but can't figure it out! Kathy and Laurie have been so nice and very helpful, but it seems like my blogger must not be set up like theirs?? I don't know, probably spending more time reading the help menu might give me the answer. These computers are so confusing!
I am also working on my kitchen dining set; it is an old round table with four unmatched chairs of all colors. I couldn't make up my mind what color to paint them, black, barn-red, white??? Finally decided to paint them all off-white, and bought the paint. So I'd better get crackin'! You all have a great week!
