This is one of my favorite holidays, after Christmas and Easter!! So much is going on right now that is disintegrating our freedoms as we have known them. We are all very busy people with our own problems and so involved in our daily lives that we sometimes do not want to get involved in what is going on around us. (Let's not keep our heads in the sand to avoid seeing it.) Below is a prayer by Billy Graham and a comment from President John F. Kennedy. They say it all, and in a much better way than I could. And I love the marching music at a July Fourth Parade, so here it is for you all to enjoy too!
'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.. This weekend as we go to barbeques and see the fireworks, please take a moment to honor those who have died for our freedom and also say a little prayor for our president, and politicians to guide them in keeping our country the free nation that it has always been!

God bless America. And just today I witnessed a spontaneous standing ovation in the airport terminal for a group of our military coming home. Amazing and very moving.
