To celebrate, I am going to have a GIVEAWAY! The pictures below are what the Giveaway is; I made a cute little nightlight from vintage embroidered doilies and lace, complete with a signature button on the back; also a book by Kathryn M. Ireland called "Classic Country", and one more thing: the sweetest little salt and pepper shakers - two yellow birds sitting on a "fence" that is a toothpick holder. (you can see it in the picture with the book.) TO ENTER, JUST LEAVE A COMMENT, AND I WILL ADD YOUR NAME TO THE GIVEAWAY LIST! I will draw a name next Sunday (March 8th!) Please note that if you respond "anonymously", I will not have an email for you (unless you leave one) and cannot respond to you or put your name in the hat!...so will the anonymous person who just responded today (3/1), please email me! Thank you, Marilyn
And, I just had to show you what I have been working on! Well, my honey had actually been doing most of the work! And I got the idea from a magazine - I cut out the picture (so I don't remember which magazine it was in!?) If you take a look at Tina's blog, she has one just like it and she actually may have been the original designer, I am not sure! Check her post for February 17th at cherryhillcottage.typepad.com to see it. And she has the cutest home too! Anyway, I had a birdcage just like the one in the picture, and so here it is: Our version of the birdcage-shelf! (IT'S NOT IN THE GIVEAWAY THO!!!)
Hope you all have a great week! Remember, just leave a comment on this post and I will add you name to the giveaway list.

Congratulations on your 1-year blogging anniversary - Did you know that most blogs don't make it to their first year? (read that somewhere). Wonderful giveaway! Count me in! Dixie
Hello Marilyn, I found your blog from "googling" (or is it google-ing?)... either way, I live in Aurora, You know, on the other side of 'the Mountain'... BUT, I lived in Bend for 15 years before moving back to the Portland area ( my entire family are in this area of Clackamas County). To get to the point(s)... 1st, when I lived in Bend I had a lampshade made (twice)for a beautiful old floor lamp that was my Granny's, and it needs to be cleaned. I'm sure that you did not make it though, as 2 guys had the shop that I cannot remember the name of(!)I will email you with more details,or, you can contact me at my blog, since this is more than a comment! (that won't disqualify me for the pillow, will it!)?. I'm happy to "meet" you, I will pop in on you at flickr, and make some more comments, as I also "have a thing for roses"... Sharon
